Studio 10 Co-Host Joe Hildebrand Joins News.com.au

News.com.au managing director Julian Delany has announced that journalist Joe Hildebrand will join the News Corp masthead as editor-at-large.

Commencing his role on Monday, Hildebrand will feature as a regular columnist for news.com.au, providing his view the stories everyone is talking about.

Hildebrand is currently the co-host of Network Ten’s morning show Studio 10 and will continue in this role. With over 20 years’ experience as a journo, he has also worked as the opinion editor and as a columnist at The Daily Telegraph, and as a columnist at the Herald Sun.

Delany said he was delighted to have someone of Hildebrand’s calibre joining the news.com.au team.

“Our brand positioning is to deliver ‘the news in colour’ and I look forward to Joe’s observations of life, which I have no doubt will provide excellent commentary to the news events of the day for our audience,” he said.

News.com.au editor-in-chief Kate de Brito said Hildebrand is an experienced journalist with a talent for taking readers to the heart of a news story with his unique style and clever humour.

“A senior print reporter, editor and television presenter – he will now expand his considerable abilities into online, which makes him what show business calls a ‘triple threat’,” she said.

“We are delighted to have him on board.”

Hildebrand said he was thrilled to be joining the news.com.au team.

“I can’t wait to be working with Kate de Brito – one of the best, funniest and most formidable journalists in Australia,” he said.

“Hopefully I’ll be able to bring some fresh, funny, provocative and insightful stories to the site. I have a few exciting ideas and if Kate doesn’t like them, I’ll say they were someone else’s.

Hildebrand credited the way news.com.au is able to break it down what’s going on in the world for people and bring them the vital things they need to know, “as well as the stuff that’s just plain out there”.

“In an age of information overload, bringing people stories that are fascinating, relevant and real is a role more important than ever, and it’s something news.com.au does better than any other site in Australia,” he said.

“I cannot wait to get started. Whatever else it may be, I promise it will not be boring.”
