SocietyOne Appoints Maria Loyez As Chief Marketing Officer

SocietyOne, Australian marketplace lender, has appointed Maria Loyez as its new chief marketing officer.

Loyez will have responsibility for all of SocietyOne’s brand and marketing activities and will play a key role in helping the company to achieve its five-year goals to grow its borrower customers to 100,000 and take a 2-to-3 per cent share of the $100 billion consumer finance market. She reports directly to SocietyOne’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Jason Yetton.

“Maria’s blend of experience, expertise and knowledge, especially her skills in digital and consumer marketing, will be invaluable as we grow SocietyOne into one of the most trusted brands in financial services in Australia,” Mr Yetton.

“I have been impressed by her passion to make a difference to customers’ lives and provide real value to them, qualities which exactly fit our mission to empower all Australians with a better deal and provide them with a real competitive alternative to the traditional banks. I’m delighted she has joined us to help us do just that.”

Loyez has over 15 years’ experience in marketing and business development and was, most recently, Global Chief Marketing Officer for OFX, the ASX-listed money transfer company (previously known as OzForex). Under her leadership, the company re-branded as OFX.

Prior to OFX, she spent two years at AMP, as Director of Channel Marketing, Advice & Banking, where she had responsibility for B2B marketing for Corporate Super and AMP Bank. Maria’s career has also included a seven-year spell at Optus, where she was respectively General Manager, Insights and Communication, General Manager Awareness and Acquisition, and then Head of Marketing Communications.

“SocietyOne is a challenger to the traditional banks and the growth to date is evidence that it’s resonating in the market,” said Maria. “The brand comes from a desire to create a fairer society and reward both customers and investors and I’m relishing the opportunity to develop the brand as well as driving further growth for the business.”
