Report: 10 Per Cent Of Kids Now Conceived In An IKEA Bed

As anyone who’s tried would attest, erecting anything IKEA can prove a long weekend of Allen-key hell.

However, if a report doing the media rounds is true, make sure your nuts are extra tight if you’re erecting one of its DIY beds, because 10 per cent of Europe’s population are now reportedly conceived in one.

The stat originally surfaced in The New York Times and no one really knows were it originated. IKEA themselves has denied it came from them. The UK’s The Independent put the claim to IKEA management who said they were “investigating” its origins.

And the claim is not that unfeasible. Some 884 million people visit an IKEA store every year. And according to the European Union’s own website some 5.1 million kids were born in EU countries in 2014. And, in reality, that’s only 500,000 beds. And that’s a lot of screwing – Allen keys that is, not the actual conception.
