Tech Festival Offers Funding Opportunity To Aussie Start-Ups

Aussie technology conference Future Assembly has announced it is partnering with StartupSeed to give eight local start-ups the opportunity to secure significant seed or venture capital at the event in December.

StartupSeed provides services that match company founders with experienced industry mentors. As part of its involvement in the conference, the company will work closely with eight selected local start-ups, as well as around 15 mentors from international venture capital fund the Thiel Foundation, coaching them ahead of a live pitch to occur at Future Assembly.

Successful start-ups will be ready to sign term sheets for funding at the event if they are successful in showcasing their value to investors on the day.

Future Assembly co-founder Ben Richardson said he is excited about the impact that the funding opportunity will have on the Aussie start-up scene.

“In 2015 we trialled Investor Matchmaking at our event, [and] 2016 is an opportunity for us to create even greater opportunities for Australian start-ups by offering opportunities on the day, as well as support and coaching in the weeks leading up to Future Assembly 2016 through our partnership with StartupSeed,” he said.

Applications to work with StartupSeed and raise capital at Future Assembly 2016 close on 10 October, with the event to take place on Friday 2 December and Saturday 3 December at Melbourne Showgrounds.
