Insight Firm Qualtrics Unveils New Sydney Office To Service APAC Region
Qualtrics, the leading enterprise insights platform, today officially opened its Asia Pacific and Japan (APAC) headquarters in Sydney, following extensive growth in the region.Qualtrics is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company and the provider of the world’s leading insights platform.
Enterprises, academic institutions and government agencies use Qualtrics to collect, analyse and act on customer, market and employee insights, all from a single platform.
Qualtrics started its APAC expansion in October 2014. At that time the company employed 3 staff, which has now grown to 50. Qualtrics has also opened offices in Melbourne and Canberra and established a local data centre to support its growing Australian client base.

Bill McMurray, managing director Asia Pacific and Japan
, Qualtrics, said: “Qualtrics has seen enormous potential in the local market. We currently have more than 400 customers in Australia, in the private and public sectors, and we’re on track for further growth. That’s why we’re looking at increasing our workforce to 70 staff by September 2016.”
Qualtrics already works with some of the top brands in most industries in Australia, including 80 per cent of universities, over 30 market research agencies, three of the four top banks and some of the largest government agencies. The Sydney office will service the Asia Pacific and Japan region with sales and marketing, as well as customer service, implementation and support.
The team focuses on providing exceptional support to local customers so they can be as successful as possible in their programs.
McMurray said, “While market research is still a strong play for Qualtrics, we are high demands for Voice-of-Customer and employee engagement programs in the local market. Companies are looking for a partner which can offer a modular and scalable solution that is function rich, yet, easy-to-use, giving them the flexibility and agility to gain a competitive advantage.”
The new office launch was officiated by the NSW Government. Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events, Stuart Ayres said, “Qualtrics is one of the new breed of technology “unicorns” – companies that have soared to a $1 billion valuation or higher. The firm’s move to service the Asia Pacific and Japan region from Sydney marks a significant investment in the State and is a major show of confidence in the NSW economy and our local talent.”
McMurray added, “We are excited for what the future of holds for us, Qualtrics is creating a paradigm shift in how leading organisations are engaging with their customers, employees and markets. This is largely being driven by advances in technology that are enabling companies to rapidly collect, analyse and act on real-time insights, which can be used to drive growth, profitability and competitive advantage.”
