Facebook User Pretends To Be Target To Tackle The Trolls

In response to the backlash Target US has received over its recent genderless advertising, a Facebook user Mike Melgaard set up a fake account “Ask ForHelp” and responded in the best way to Target’s haters.

Target US recently announced that the classic ‘girls like pink, boys like blue’ gendered advertising would be phased out of their stores. In response to the announcement, Target has received some nasty comments online from people upset about the change.

Melgaard sarcastically tore down about 50 posts before the fake account was shut down, it took a whole 16 hours before Ask ForHelp was suspended.

Target US released a statement about the trolling: “At Target, we are committed to providing outstanding guest service to our guests wherever we engage with them—in our stores, online, or on our social pages. Clearly this individual was not speaking on behalf of Target. Should guests ever have questions on whether a communication from Target is legitimate, we encourage them to reach out to guest relations at 1-800-440-0680.”

Because the haters going to hate.
