AnalogFolk Beefs Up Design With Two New Directors

Independent creative agency AnalogFolk has appointed former Droga5 head of design Michael Kleinman and UX specialist Robert St Clair to newly created roles as it continues to experience growth.

AnalogFolk, which opened its Australian doors three years ago, has hired Kleinman as its first design director while St Clair takes the new position of experience design director.

Matt Robinson, partner and managing director of AnalogFolk Sydney said: “We use digital to make the analog world better and these new roles will build on our capabilities to design experiences that build brands with every interaction.

“Modern brands are defined by what they do and not necessarily what they say, and in Mike and Rob we have two seasoned designers who understand how to ensure the consumer has the best possible brand experience for the clients we work with.”

Prior to joining AnalogFolk, Kleinman was head of design at Droga5 Sydney and digital design director at M&C Saatchi/Make. He has also worked for Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Tribal DDB, Razorfish, JWT and has won Cannes Gold and Silver Lions for design. He regularly judges the Webbys which recognises international excellence on the internet, and other design and creative awards.

St Clair has over 15 years experience creating digital interactive experiences, working extensively with major cultural institutions in addition to key agency roles including ICD at Spinifex Group, Lead interaction designer at Frost, and numerous UX consultancy roles including R/GA, M&C Saatchi and Wunderman.

AnalogFolk creates platforms, content, products and campaigns for global clients such as Absolut Vodka, Chivas Regal, Malibu, The a2 Milk Company, Raffertys Garden and Jacobs Creek as well as Freedom Foods, Canon, The Australian Beer Company and HotelClub locally.

Founded in London in 2008, AnalogFolk opened in Sydney in 2011, where B&T named the office ‘Emerging Agency of the Year’ the following year. In 2013, AnalogFolk opened in New York and at the start of 2015 boosted the US offering with the opening of a Portland office. Earlier this month it established a second APAC office in Hong Kong.
