Executive Channel International Appoints New Directors

Following the Executive Channel International’s (ECI) July announcement regarding the restructure of the Executive Channel Group, ECI executive chairman Bruce Fink, has announced the company’s new board of directors.

Joining the three founders, Bruce Fink, Charles Parry-Okeden and Craig Cohen, the company has appointed two non-executive directors, Australian-based Kim Williams AM and UK-based Bill Muirhead AM. The company has also appointed Chris Winterburn as an executive director.

“I am delighted that Kim, Bill and Chris have joined the board. Their extraordinary skills and experience will be of great benefit to the organisation and I feel privileged to be working with them,” Fink said.

ECI global CEO, Parry-Okeden said the global restructure and the appointment of the new board members coincide with plans for global expansion.  “These board appointments will greatly assist in continuing to build Executive Channel into a world leader in office media,” he said.

Kim Williams AM has had a long involvement in the arts, entertainment and media industries in Australia and overseas. He has held various Australian executive leadership roles including chief executive positions at New Corp Australia, FOXTEL, Fox Studios Australia, the Australian Film Commission, Southern Star Entertainment and Musica Viva Australia, as well as a senior executive at the ABC.

Williams has also held numerous board positions (and chairmanships) in commercial and public life over more than three decades. He became a Member of the Order of Australia in June 2006 for his services to the arts and public policy formulation in the film and television industries. He is a current board member of the University of Western Sydney Foundation and a Commissioner of the Australian Football League.

Bill Muirhead AM joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 1972. He has worked with British Airways, Qantas, The Conservative Party, Toyota, BP, News International and the COI.

In 1989 he became chairman & CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi in London and then chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi Europe.  In 1994, he moved to New York as chief executive and president of Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Worldwide. He is a founding partner of M&C Saatchi, together with David Kershaw, Maurice Saatchi and Jeremy Sinclair and was responsible for establishing the company’s overseas offices.

In April 2007, he was appointed Agent General for South Australia. In 2013, Muirhead became a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia, for significant service to the community of South Australia through the promotion of international trade.

Chris Winterburn has been in the media industry for almost 20 years working predominantly on the media agency side in various capacities for multinational agencies rising to managing director of the WPP owned agency MediaCom. At MediaCom he contributed significantly to the successful introduction of MediaCom’s digital and strategic offering and the growth of the agency’s diversified services.

During his time with WPP Winterburn was an active participant in the George Pattison Bates buyback from Cordiant Communications in the UK, as well as the acquisition and subsequent transition of the MediaCom business from Zenith Media. Winterburn is managing director of Media i, Australia’s most consumed trade media platform for media agency professionals, comprising over 200 premium large format digital screens across 80 locations.
