Instagram Hot Spots: Sydney vs Melbourne

Instagram’s most active suburbs in Sydney and Melbourne have been revealed in a first of a kind study that uncovers the individual suburbs of each capital city.

According to the study measuring the average total posts over a 90-day period, Instagram’s most loved suburb in Sydney is Sydney CBD followed by Bondi Beach, Hurstville, Maroubra and Manly. In Melbourne, the top suburbs are Melbourne CBD followed by Malvern, Coburg North, Footscray and Kew East.

The findings are part of the latest Datafication study from Sydney-based advertising agency The Works. The agency has analysed more than 3.7 million geotagged Australian Instagram images since the platform launched in 2010.
