“Naked Communications has won the full-service creative account for the Victorian Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Service Board (MFB) and the Country Fire Authority (CFA) following a competitive pitch. Starting immediately, Naked will create and implement a creative, PR, experiential, social and digital Home Fire Safety Campaign (HFSC).

Tricia Wunsch, Director Corporate Communications at MFB said that over the past decade, the statewide campaign had focused on types of behavior and actions that can lead to house fires and injuries. “We are excited this year to be using the digital space and in particular social media elements to promote home fire safety in an innovative way and look forward to working with Naked Communications”.

CFA Communities and Communication Executive Director Mark Sullivan said there are a myriad of ways a house fire can start – from leaving a fry pan on the stove, clothes too close to a heater, or even a nappy on a lamp.

“There are over 3,500 residential fires in Victoria each year and these incidents result in property damage, injuries and in a number of cases, fatalities. These statistics show that we need to continue to raise awareness around home fire safety in the cooler months,” he said.

Tom Ward, MD of Naked Melbourne said, “Although the Australian summer is the season for bushfires, it is also important to be fire alert around the home as house fires happen all year round. It’s an important message for the community and we’re proud to work with the MFB and CFA to raise awareness of how easy it is for house fires to start and what Victorians can do to reduce the risks”. ”
