UM Melbourne appoints managing director and general manager

UM Australia has appointed Ivo Kavelj to managing director of the Melbourne agency and Alex Smith to general manager.

“Kavelj, Smith Take the Top Jobs at UM Melbourne

UM Australia CEO Mat Baxter (pictured) has announced that Ivo Kavelj has been appointed managing director of UM Melbourne and Alex Smith has been appointed general manager of the agency.

Kavelj and Smith have been managing partners at UM Melbourne prior to these promotions and they will move to their new roles effective immediately.  Peter Butler, managing director of IPG Mediabrands Melbourne said the appointments were important leadership positions for the group that recognise the continuing expansion in the Melbourne operations.

Kavelj joined UM Melbourne in February this year as managing partner and head of investment. Mat Baxter said Kavelj had rapidly shown his leadership and skills capabilities and that taking on the MD role was a natural progression in his career. Alex Smith’s promotion to general manager of UM Melbourne will see her continue in her client leadership role.
