An emotional tell-all interview with former NRL player Johnathan Thurston delivered big numbers for Nine’s 60 Minutes last night.

Thurston, who retired at the end of this season to become a Nine commentator, opened up about alleged rape allegations that have dogged his career way back when be played for Canterbury Bankstown in 2002.

Last night’s episode pulled 882,000 viewers and was the fourth most watched show of the night.

On the back of The Block (1.192 million), Nine had an easy win with 34.1 per cent of the audience share. Seven had to settle for second and 28.7 per cent. The ABC took third with 17.7 per cent, adding to Ten’s Sunday night woes, it took a measly 12.2 per cent. SBS had 7.3 per cent.

Adding to Nine’s stellar evening, its 6pm news bulletin pipped rival Seven’s 966,000 to 907,000, respectively.

For Seven, its highlights included All Together Now – The 100 which was a little disappointing with just 675,000. Sunday Night pulled 456,000 (nearly half of rival 60 Minutes), while Murder Uncovered had 238,000.

Ten’s disappointing Sunday comprised The Sunday Project (370,000), Game Of Games (325,000) and the Supercars in the afternoon (320,000).

The ABC’s evening ran thus: 7pm news (747,000), The Invictus Games (478,000) and Pine Gap (433,000).

Over at the SBS, its best was Ancient Invisible Cities with 246,000.
