Stan All Set To Launch On Apple TV

It’s partnerships all round in the streaming video on demand (SVOD) space. A number of the players in the market, Presto, Stan, Netflix, have signed on with telcos for promotions and now Stan has announced today it is launching on Apple TV.

The service is now directly available through Apple’s TV offering, for those who have an Apple TV.

Stan CEO, Mike Sneesby, said launching on Apple TV has always been a high priority in its development path.

“Since launch we have received more requests from subscribers for a Stan app to be available on Apple TV than any other device,” he said.

“We’re thrilled to be launching on Apple TV today and will continue to make Stan’s lineup of award-winning TV shows and blockbuster movies available on more and more devices.”

Time will tell how the launch will fare with Stan. Yesterday B&T reported Netflix had massively barged ahead in the SVOD space, receiving around 800,000 visits per day where the other players were seeing less than 50,000 hits.

However the results were from Hitwise, which only record hits to the websites and not the take-up rate of paid subscriptions.
