Australian streaming site, Stan has announced production has started on its new comedy No Activity. The improv comedy series will be the first original program to be made exclusively for stan.

The Jungleboys produced show will follow two detectives on a very dull stakeout. The narrative juxtaposes a snail-paced crime story with the rapidly expanding personal stories of the two detectives as they riff on the oddities of life, work, love, family, hopes, regrets and everything in-between.

The announcement expands Stan’s original programming, with development deals for Wolf Creek and Enemies of the State projects already in place.

Nick Forward, Stan’s director of product and content said: “We’re hugely excited to be working with the team at Jungleboys to bring the first Stan Original comedy series to life. Stan’s ambition has always been to work with Australian producers to create and distribute world-class shows.”

Jason Burrows, managing director of Jungleboys: “With Stan we’ve found a partner who shares our vision and has given us the freedom to make something we are passionate about.”

Stan’s announcement follows in the footsteps of US Streaming company Netflix, who have had huge success with their own original content House Of Cards and Orange Is The New Black. Stan has previously mimicked Netflix-esque ‘binge watching’ style by uploading all seven episodes of the Gallipoli series at once.

No Activity will premiere on Stan in late 2015.
