OMD’S Big Day Out Kicks Off For 2017

OMD Melbourne has kicked off the network’s annual media partner event, ‘OMD’s Big Day Out’, at Laurens Hall in North Melbourne. The events are designed to give media owners a deeper understanding of OMD’s clients’ offerings, business challenges and how the media can help solve them.

The Melbourne event had over 160 media partners in attendance who were taken through eleven custom built immersive client experiences.

Attendee Tim Murphy, sales director for oOH Media (VIC, SA, WA), commented, “OMD’s Big Day Out is exactly that – a big day out! You get the sense that this is their Grand Final, and each year they play their best game on the biggest stage. Every team member who participates, from the most experienced to the brightest young talent, showcased a knowledge and passion for their client that is clearly contagious. You walk away with a deeper insight into all OMD’s clients, but most importantly, you walk away from the Big Day Out with the comfort and assurance that the people of OMD are well and truly, at the top of their game. OMD have set the benchmark once again. Well done guys!”

Margie Reid, managing director, OMD Melbourne says, “OMD’s Big Day Out is about recognising the crucial role our media partners play in delivering outstanding work for our clients. The day is about celebrating the real spirit of collaboration we have here at OMD. It was an outstanding success and I couldn’t be prouder of our team. Everyone in the agency had a hand in pulling the day together, whether it be out front presenting or behind the scenes.”

Aimee Buchanan, OMD Australia CEO, said, “Our Big Day Out events are my proudest days at OMD. They are a real proof point to our performance with integrity ambition. The Melbourne team did an outstanding job displaying incredible passion and knowledge of their clients.”

The successful event caps off what has been a big 12 months for the OMD network. The agency won the Coles Group and Target accounts, whilst also retaining Village Roadshow, TABCORP, and Frucor, alongside a number of award winning campaigns.

OMD’s Big Day Out is now in its third year, with events for Sydney and Brisbane planned for the coming months.
