The Hit Network Reveals New-look Drive Line-up For 2018

The Hit Network Reveals New-look Drive Line-up For 2018

Southern Cross Austereo’s The Hit Network has announced a new line-up for the drive slot in 2018, which it claims to be a radio first.

Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little will take to the radio waves from 3pm to 4:30pm, followed by Hughesy & Kate (pictured above) from 4:30pm to 6:30pm from next year across all 43 of The Hit Network’s radio stations.

Bickmore and Little joined forces for The Hit Network in February hosting a daily show from 3pm to 4pm, while Hughesy & Kate currently hold the drive slot at Australian Radio Network’s KIIS FM.

The four personalities will replace Hamish & Andy, after the veteran duo announced late in 2016 that they would be quitting radio at the end of this year to focus more on their TV commitments.

Gemma Fordham, head of content at The Hit Network, said: “We are delighted one of radio’s most enduring and hilarious duets, Hughesy & Kate, are joining our new drive line-up for 2018.

“The commute home is when we let go, relax and leave the work day behind, and The Hit Network is committed to entertaining all people on their way, whether it is at 3pm, 5pm or 6pm.

“To be able to also confirm Carrie and Tommy, a show which just gets better and better, really does give The Hit Network and its audience the best of both worlds in 2018.”

SCA chief executive Grant Blackley said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome Hughesy & Kate to the SCA family.

“Both are consummate professionals and wonderful entertainers, and will be a great addition to The Hit Network’s already strong national Drive line-up with Carrie and Tommy.”
