Grand Design Australia Announces Homewares Range

Grand Designs Australia is further strengthening its position as one of the country’s most-loved television brands, with FremantleMedia Australia announcing a partnership with Albi – a leading Australian homewares distributor.

Developed by Albi, The Grand Designs Home Collection is a 75-piece range featuring soft furnishings, decorative items and larger furniture pieces. Myer is the exclusive department store retailer of the collection, launching November 2016. The collection is also available at selected independent stores nationwide.

The extensive range offers lovers of homewares a slice of timeless appeal that is quintessentially Grand Designs. The items are designed to bring something new and unique to home living and tie in with each other for an easily coordinated look.

Grand Designs is a globally recognised brand with a large and loyal following of design devotees who will be eagerly anticipating the new homewares collection when it arrives in Myer later this year. Myer is renowned for its stylish and up-to-the-minute homewares department, and we are excited to offer our customers the opportunity to shop the new Grand Designs Home Collection, both in-store as well as online. The introduction of Grand Designs Home Collection fits very well with our New Myer strategy to offer our customers desirable and wanted home lifestyle brands,” said Tanya Leivers, Myer general manager home.

The launch of the new homewares range coincides with a publishing deal with Bauer Books and additions to the Grand Designs Australia Magazine portfolio. The Best of Grand Designs Australia, a high-end hardcover coffee table book published by Bauer Books, will feature 27 stand-out properties selected from the first six series of Grand Designs Australia.

Three new limited edition magazine specials will also launch this year as an extension to the existing partnership with Universal Magazine, publisher of the award-winning Grand Designs Australia Magazine. The three specials – Interiors, Outdoors, and Kitchens & Bathrooms – will take a closer look at these key areas of home design.

“The strong retail growth of the Grand Designs Australia brand continues to impress the market and provide opportunities in the retail space. These new developments cement the brand as a key player in the world of architecture and home design in Australia, with plenty in the pipeline to come,” said Zara Curtis, GM Brand Partnerships, FremantleMedia Australia.

DVD sales continue to go from strength to strength, with the total Grand Designs DVD brand selling more than 250,000 units in Australia making it the leading home entertainment Australian Lifestyle Series.

Grand Designs Australia will screen its 7th series on Foxtel’s LifeStyle Channel soon, with the DVD in market soon after.
