Giant Tetris game unites nostalgic gamers

As part of Philly Tech Week 100 gamers gathered to play the world’s largest game of Tetris on the fa√ßade of 29-story office building in downtown Philadelphia.

The tech-savvy team programed the lighting system of the glass-adorned Cira Center to simulate a giant version of the famous video game.

The event marked an early birthday for the iconic computer game, due to turn 30 this year.

Tetris has long been loved for "its simplicity and addictive game play," said event brainchild Frank J. Lee, "it’s a cultural icon."

Lee told The New York Times the giant Tetris game would bring people together in a world where "technology has sort of made us isolated from each other."
