Foxtel Looks To Join Forces With Netflix And Stan

Pay TV player Foxtel is in discussions with the two leading subscription TV providers in Australia about a potential content bundle offering.

If it eventuates, the deal could see Foxtel offering the full breadth of content across Netflix and/or Stan on the Foxtel Now platform, with customers only having to worry about one bill, according to Fairfax.

Foxtel currently enables subscribers to access content on Stan via apps, but only if users also have subscription to the SVOD service.

The news comes after Sky announced a content bundle partnership with Netflix last week in Europe.

Foxtel and Sky happen to both be under Rupert Murdoch’s thumb, with Fairfax reporting that Foxtel was aiming to mimic the Sky deal, and that an official announcement wasn’t far away.
