Channel Seven Producer Hits Back At Sportsbet Super Bowl Meme

A Channel Seven producer has tweeted back at sports betting company Sportsbet after it created a meme about a female Sunrise presenter who attended the Super Bowl.

Sportsbet, which is known for its tongue-in-cheek Twitter account, took shots at Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew for her work during the Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons.

The screenshot of Bartholomew included the tagline: “Aussie reporter on junket pretends to know about the NFL” and included a fake quote of her saying: “Everyone’s talking about Matt Brady of the Atlanta Patriots …”.

Matt Brady is a combination of the quarterbacks for the opposing teams – Tom Brady (New England Patriots) and Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcons)- as well as combining the teams ‘Atlanta Patriots’.

Sportsbet tweet:

Sunrise executive producer Michael Pell replied to the tweet:

The tweet hasn’t been deleted.
