Many TV networks hope their shows are a knockout with viewers, but producers of Ten’s Studio 10 took the idea literally after a beam toppled onto audience members putting two in hospital.
The incident, reported on News Corp sites, apparently happened in Ten’s Sydney studios on Monday morning during a live taping of the show.
Ten is reportedly reviewing its safety procedures following the incident.
According to reports, a camera jib toppled during ad ad break, hitting the audience. Two audience members were taken to hospital, although their condition wasn’t considered serious and they were released by the afternoon.
“Obviously everyone was shocked, but the team moved quickly to ensure everyone was OK,” a Ten spokesperson said. “We are in constant contact with both audience members to ensure they make a full recovery and we are covering all associated costs.”
