Em Rusciano will not be returning to her 2DayFM breakfast show role next year, with Ash London to fill in for the remainder of 2018.

Rusciano, who is expecting her third child early next year, revealed her decision to quit her radio gig to listeners this morning, which you can listen to here.

A statement by the Hit Network said Ash London will fill in alongside Grant Denyer and Ed Kavalee until a replacement for 2DayFM’s 2019 line up has been determined.

B&T reported back in May that London was tipped to replace Rusciano amid all the drama that unfolded around the breakfast show that month (which you can read about here, here and here).

However, Hit Network’s head of content, Gemma Fordham, rubbished talk about plans for Rusciano to be dumped from 2DayFM in June.

In a statement today, Fordham said: “We are so thrilled for Em and her family that after everything they experienced last year, they will have a beautiful baby in their world early next year.

“Em had a heart-to-heart with me last month and let me know that she would like to wrap up breakfast hours and focus on her growing family and her other many creative pursuits.

“The business 100 per cent supports and understands Em’s decision. Em has always been forthright and honest with our listeners, sharing every intimate detail of her life, and she will continue to be part of the 2DayFM family when she can for the remainder of this year.”

The station will send off Rusciano on Friday morning in the way of a brunch with 100 pregnant listeners.
