T20 bats Ten into top 10

The KFC T20 Big Bash League cricket match between Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat won Ten two top 10 places in the TV ratings last night.

The match pulled in a total of 1.256 million viewers, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The game’s second half proved most popular, it came in eighth place overall with 630,000 viewers.

In 10th place was the game’s first session which attracted 626,000 fans.

The Big Bash League elevated Ten’s total share of all free-to-air viewers to 21.2%. But it wasn’t enough to put the network ahead of Seven or Nine but it did beat the ABC which won a total 18.6%.

Nine won the night with a total 28.3% share of viewers with Seven in second place on 25.6%.

Seven had Wednesday evening’s most watched show with Seven News taking 1.046 million viewers.

Seven’s primary channel won a total 17.8% share of all FTA viewers. Nine’s main channel won 19.1% compared to Ten’s primary 14.3% and ABC1’s 12.1%.

SBS sat on a combined 6.3% with 4.6% going to SBS ONE.
