News Limited raids White Agency and Mojo for execs

EXCLUSIVE: White Agency founder Craig Galvin and Publicis Mojo stalwart Carl Colman have been snapped up by News Limited as it looks to “bolster the creative and innovative expertise within the team”.

Galvin, who has built his reputation as a leading digital specialist since co-founding The White Agency in 2002, is taking on the role of digital strategy director for the publisher.

Colman, who was a partner at Mojo and ZenithOptimedia, is taking on the role of national customer solutions director.

Group director of sales Fiorella Di Santo said Galvin’s role would be to ensure the company’s digital advertising strategy is integrated into creative and advertising strategies.

She added: “Consumer consumption in digital is exponentially increasing and we need to be at the fore in providing the right multi-platform, highly targeted advertising solutions and products to help brands engage with their audiences.

“At News, when you combine all our products the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. It’s great that we are able to bring a person of Craig’s calibre in to drive our digital advertising strategy.”

Colman will be responsible for leading the sales operating and strategy of News Australia Sales, including trade marketing, pricing, creative services, insights, business development and commercial innovation.

Di Santo said: “Carl is a seasoned advertising talent. Having worked many years in agency, he has a clear understanding of our customer needs.

“He is a creative, innovative and strategic leader and I am delighted that he has agreed to join our team.”

Colman added: “News has an encouraging motivation and clear vision for the future with a focus on customers and innovation when bringing audience-led advertising solutions to life.

“It’s a great time to be leading the strategy that brings together the strengths of News’ products.”
