Match Media hires Ikon's Pat Crowley

Independent media agency Match Media has enticed Ikon veteran Pat Crowley to join the team.

Crowley (pictured left), who has been with Ikon for 12 years, joins Match Media as operations director.

John Preston (pictured right), founder and CEO of Match, said he had been looking for an “outstanding media professional” when he hired Crowley.

“Someone to help us manage our progression, establish a strong client service platform for future growth, and who gets where media is heading in the future. Pat fits the bill perfectly. He has lived and breathed the growth of Ikon over the years and experienced a hell of a lot in that time,” Preston said.

During his 12 year tenure with Ikon Crowley was managing director of the Sydney office and prior to that he was lead on the Commonwealth Bank account.

“He has excellent client management and people management skills, and he’s an awesome bloke who will fit in well with the Match culture. The operations director position is a new role at Match and Pat will have direct client line responsibilities together with a broad involvement in the agency’s operations to ensure that we are top of our game,” Preston added.

Leaving Ikon was a tough decision to make, but Crowley said he felt a career change was needed.

“When I reviewed the market Match stood out as the place to be and culturally was a strong connection, and we began discussions a few weeks ago.  I’m joining the agency when it’s at the top of its game but also recognise its amazing potential . I can’t wait to be part of the next chapter in Match’s development.”
