MEC secures Seven and Tiger Airways deals

MEC secures Seven and Tiger Airways deals

MEC has secured two big new bits of business with Network Seven and Tiger Airways signing on.

Seven has moved its media account over after fellow GroupM agency MediaCom won the Foxtel account at the end of last year, sparking fears of a potential conflict of interest.

The Tiger Airways work was won after a competitive pitch from incumbent Starcom Mediavest at the end of last year and comes with a regional remit.

MEC has already started acting on behalf of both clients, and expects to start work with Blackmores, which it won earlier this year, later this month.

CEO Peter Vogel said it had been “a great start to the year” for the agency, which also won the MEC Global Ideas Grand Prix over the weekend for its work on Arnott’s Vita-Weat ‘Top That’ campaign, which previously won B&T’s Media Campaign of the Year and picked up an MFA Award last year.

Vogel told B&T: “To be picked out of about 240 offices worldwide and 430 entries in total for that campaign is great, it’s like the culmination of the work we did on it.”
