House Rules pushed past Nine’s The Voice to claim top spot in the ratings last night as the unveiling of the Tasmanian renovation and house extension resulted in a surge of viewers.

The house reveal episode of House Rules pulled in 1.658 million viewers on Monday night, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The result is up on last week’s house reveal (1.487 million) and the reveal on May 12 which won 1.292 million viewers.

Nine’s The Voice was pushed to second place last night with 1.586 million viewers choosing the singing competition.

Fellow reality hopeful MasterChef Australia sat in 15th place with 718,000 viewers. The cooking competition was Ten’s highest rated program on Monday night with The Project (700,000) and Ten Eyewitness News (664,000) also finding a place in the top 20.

Seven won the night overall with a total 33.9% share of all free-to-air viewers and 25.5% for its main channel.

Nine was pushed to second place on a combined 30.2% with 24.4% going to the network’s primary channel.

The ABC was in third place on 17% with 12.7% going to ABC1. Ten was in fourth place with a combined 14%. The network’s main channel won 9.3%. SBS sat on a total 4.9% with 3.4% going to SBS ONE.
