Yesterday Woolworths has launched a social campaign featuring six times world surf champion Steph Gilmore and Sabre Norris- a nine year old skateboard and surfing athlete.
The brief was to leverage Woolies’ partnership with Surfing Australia to communicate a ‘summer health’ message, all geared towards inspiring a healthier/fresher basket – which they’ve done in a really fun way.
Check out the campaign, which has over 1.3 million views:
Woolworths surfing ambassador and six-time world surfing champion Stephanie Gilmore said; “Surfing requires enormous amounts of energy and concentration so it’s really important to get the right nutrients in before heading to the beach – especially when you’re growing.
“Kids still want something that tastes good though, so it was great fun challenging Sabre to think differently about what she eats before and after going for a surf. Smoothies not only taste delicious but are also the perfect way to pack in your five-a-day as well.”
Woolworths director of marketing, Andrew Hicks, said; “Surfing is at the heart of Australian culture, so Woolworths is excited to be working with Stephanie and Sabre to showcase how easy it is to make healthy eating simple and fun.
“Through our partnership with Surfing Australia and this video series created with two inspiring athletes we are proud to be encouraging healthy eating habits among young Australians.”
