Tough Mudder Partners With beyondblue

Endurance event series Tough Mudder has announced that not-for-profit mental health organisation beyondblue will be its official charity partner for 2017.

Paul Mudge, partnerships and marketing director at Tough Mudder Australia, said: “We are really thrilled to be working with beyondblue and have them come on board as our new official charity partner.

“It’s important we recognise that depression and anxiety affects a wide range of people. Anyone can have a tough exterior, but you never truly know how a person is feeling inside.

“By working with beyondblue, we can bring to light the positive benefits exercise, teamwork and mateship have on mental health.

Georgie Harman, CEO of beyondblue, said: “We are excited to be working with Tough Mudder as its official charity partner. We want every Australian to achieve their best possible mental health, and exercise can be a great way to start.

“We know it boosts physical health, but it can also benefit mental wellbeing and exercising in a group is a fantastic way to make social connections.

“Tough Mudder is all about teamwork and looking out for your mates, and that’s what beyondblue encourages people to do when it comes to mental health – check in with your friends and family, especially if you notice they’re struggling with work, relationships or other aspects of life.”
