Tinder takes over IAB’s Creative Showcase

Digital creative agency, Circul8, has won IAB Australia’s Creative Showcase 8.5 with their Tinder Takeover campaign.

The campaign created for Amnesty International on International Women’s Day saw a Tinder profile created raise awareness that many women around the world don’t have the same choices as those on Tinder.

When women logged on to Tinder, hard hitting messages on profiles were shown that directed them to the Amnesty International’s campaign.

Havas Worldwide Sydney grabbed second place with The eBay Xmas Gift Engine campaign, changing eBay’s search algorithm from ‘items’ to ‘interests’ and created a Facebook app that used the new algorithm.

M&C Saatchi’s The Battle of the Bridge campaign saw third place that fuelled new levels of rivalry between the two Sydney AFL clubs. The fierce fans battle capitalised on Twitter as the club with the most Tweets was declared the winner.

"Social media is well and truly part of the marketing fabric in Australia with Tinder, Twitter and Facebook featuring in this round's three winners. The agencies all used social media in interesting ways to engage their audience and create brand interaction,” Mike Zeederberg, managing director of Zuni and Creative Showcase’s chair of judges, said.
