Velcro Releases Hilarious Ad Aimed At People Who Misuse The Term ‘Velcro’

Velcro (yes, the makers of the sticky shoe fastener stuff) are so tired of cheap rip-offs of its product that it’s released a witty ad aimed at protecting its patent and urging people to use its name properly.

The ad apparently shows Velcro’s “lawyers” singing along to a tune that rubbishes the imitators and reinforces there’s only one real Velcro. Check out the rather amusing spot below:

“We’re a company that’s so successful, that everywhere you go you see this hairy, scratchy fastener and you say, ‘Hey! That’s velcro!” one employee sings, before another chimes in, “But even though we invented this stuff, our patent lapsed 40 years ago. Now no matter who else makes it, you still want to call it ‘Velcro’.”
