Supercheap Auto Unveils Top 10 “Big Break” Finalists & Puts It To A Public Vote

Supercheap Auto has announced the 10 finalists in the Big Break competition and turned the vote over to the public to pick their favourite ad, and the winner of $20,000 cash and $160k,000 worth of airtime during the Supercars 2017 season.

Aspiring filmmakers from all over Australia and New Zealand entered for their chance to win the much sought after ‘pole position’, showcasing their love of Supercheap Auto and in most cases, a good dose of comedic talent.

Inspiration for the entries came from a mixed bag of sources, from dating app Tinder to primary school card-swapping games, from macho cops to burglaries, to ad jingles of old, and one entrant who just wanted to get Grandma out of the house.

All finalists relied heavily on friends and family to help with their top-ten entry, from casting decisions that see wives, girlfriends and grandma’s take the spotlight, to frenzied last minute costume-making by friends, and borrowed props.

Most entrants are dreaming of a career behind the camera and their selection as a finalist has given them the impetus to keep striving to keep their dream alive.  Almost all of the finalists would put the winning $20,000 towards a career in film, either upgrading equipment or investing in further study.

Votes are now open, so head over to the website to watch the top ten and vote for your favourite and help our next Baz Luhrmann or Cate Shortland get their Big Break – https://bigbreak.supercheapauto.com/
