Radio Mercury Awards: ‘You Can Do Anything On Radio’ Even Whack Gran

A campaign calling for entries in the 2017 Radio Mercury Awards is using some gory noises to prove that anything is possible on radio.

According to the Radio Mercury Awards, on radio you can pretend to hit your grandmother over the head with a frying pan or make a kale and hamster smoothie. It’s all a-okay, because the violence is implied by the audio and not actually shown.

The Radio Mercury Awards was established in 1992 to encourage and reward the development of effective and creative radio commercials. The annual Radio Mercury Awards competition draws entries from advertising agencies, production houses, radio stations, and educational institutions across the United States.
