Former AOL Exec Tom Weaving Joins Programmatic Giant The Trade Desk

Global ad tech company The Trade Desk has announced the appointment of former AOL executive Tom Weaving as its director of business development for Australia and New Zealand.

Weaving joins The Trade Desk after nearly three years working at AOL, where he started as a regional account sales manager before being promoted to head of platform sales across Southeast Asia.

Prior to his stint at AOL, Weaving worked as an account manager at Catcha Digital Asia for two years representing premium publishers across the region.

Matt Harty, senior vice president at The Trade Desk, said Weaving has an excellent track record of success in the digital advertising market and will make a strong impact for the company’s Australia and New Zealand division.

“His experience across a number of countries in Asia and in launching new programmatic advertising solutions will enable the company to deliver ongoing growth,” he said.

Weaving said the programmatic giant has a significant opportunity in Australia and New Zealand to build on its strengths in video, mobile and audio advertising.

“The Trade Desk’s programmatic advertising platform is built for performance and [its] client servicing model is impressive,” he said.

“I am looking forward to bringing significant value to agency trading desks and advertisers in Australia and New Zealand.”
