Independent communications agency OBM has appointed Mat Garbutt to lead its creative department.

Garbutt, a copywriter by trade, has worked at agencies including Grey, AJF Partnership, Draft FCB (where he was creative director from 2010 to 2012) and Fenton Stephens.

Harry Corsham, director at OBM, which is based in Melbourne and Brisbane, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mat to OBM. We strive to produce better work all the time and Mat’s talents as a writer and his calm authority as a creative leader will significantly strengthen the agency’s creative output.”

Garbutt added: “The really exciting thing about this role is the chance to help foster creativity right across the business. Happy, exciting times ahead.”
