Country Road's 'Life Through Wool'

Fashion brand Country Road and The Woolmark Company have teamed up to create a short film celebrating Australian wool featuring actress Isabel Lucas.

The ‘Life Through Wool’ film is to mark the 50th anniversary of the quality-assurance stamp that is the Woolmark symbol and Country Road’s 40th year. The two brands have been working together since 1980.

The film is set on a Boonoke shep station and focuses on the beauty of the wool farm as well as the relationship between a father and his city-based daughter.

“Lucas, a modern city woman, takes a trip back to the family home. It’s shearing season and thousands of sheep arrive,

a spectacular site. Lucas’s character enjoys the beauty of the farm, the familiarity of home and reflective moments of stillness, a storyline that is true to the lives of the Australian farming community,” the release said.

Country Road managing director Sophie Holt said the film was a celebration of the two brands.

“We are so excited to launch Life Through Wool,” Holt said. “We set out to produce a film that celebrated the beauty and light of the Australian landscape and the natural quality of wool – I think the piece captures this perfectly.”

Country Road’s 40th birthday celebrations will see it focus on its history as well as its standing today in further collaborations, events, activations, product launches and new store concepts which will be unveiled throughout the year.

‘Life Through Wool’ will play in cinemas locally from April 3.

CEO of Australian Wool Innovation Stuart McCullough said: “Like the Woolmark brand, we see Country Road as an iconic

Australian brand which is well respected right across the country. Their commitment to the Australian wool industry – starting with the woolgrowers right through to the end consumer – has evolved into something which is vital in the work we do.”
