Community grants program launched Loud-ly

Loud has launched the 2013 community grants program for NRMA Insurance, SGIC and SGIO. The program offers funding to organisations to help create change in their local communities.

Grants are awarded in four categories in order to help make communities safer and more sustainable at a local level ‚Äë crime prevention, emergency readiness and response, road safety and environment.

Although the grants program has been running since 2003, it faces tough competition. Community grants programs are plentiful and there is little to differentiate between them, so there is a need to develop an identify that could grow year on year.

The story behind each of the grants program, its recipients and the communities it touches is immensely powerful. With this in mind, and using a similar strategy to crowdfunding platforms, Loud built a new identity for the program and a platform to showcase these stories. Five grant recipients from 2012 tell their personal stories and how they have been able to affect change at their local level, giving motivation to the 2013 applicants to apply for grant funding this year.

“Our new campaign clearly demonstrates that it is not just a process of applying and registering interest.  It’s about rewarding ideas that will make a real-world difference to communities, about going to an online destination where these real-life stories are told, and where you can find inspiration in everyday people,” said Joe Van Trump, creative director, Loud.
