Young Guns Announces Search For New & Emerging Talent

The Public Relations Institute of Australia’s (PRIA) committee, NSW Young Guns, is hitting the accelerator on its recruitment drive as the group looks to bolster its ranks through 2021.

The group is looking to connect with emerging industry professionals, graduate and university students to fill various roles in the committee.

The NSW Young Guns is a dedicated PRIA committee focused on providing a link to industry for up-and-coming communications practitioners and students. The group’s dedicated program and events aim to drive industry engagement and education, connect like-minded professionals and maximise facetime with industry leaders.

The group recently hosted a networking event in collaboration with Canva – the first face-to-face industry networking event in the 16 months since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

NSW Young Guns, co-chair, Rachel King, said: “The PRIA NSW Young Guns is a team of ambitious young professionals, who are committed to creating meaningful development opportunities for new and emerging PR practitioners.

“We are calling for expressions of interest from NSW-based communications and PR students, new graduates and young professionals who are keen to help shape the future of our industry, while also building their own resume.”

NSW Young Guns, co-chair, Maya Ivanovic, said: “Our team brings together diverse talent from across the industry to provide professional support to the next generation of PR and comms professionals.

“It’s an exciting time as we look for bright, new talent to join our team and play a role in elevating our offering over the coming months.”

Louise Harland-Cox, PRIA, chief executive officer, said: “PRIA is committed to supporting and developing Australia’s best communicators by delivering industry-leading training, networking and knowledge.

“Groups like the NSW Young Guns, and its counterparts across the country, have an important role in fostering the next generation of talent.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for young professionals to join a team of their peers and contribute to the growth of our industry.”
