WE Communications has strengthened its creative capability with the appointment of credentialed leader Neil Harris as its creative director.
In this new role, Harris (pictured, back row, second from right) will be responsible for overseeing WE’s creative and studio offering in Australia and contribute to the next chapter of growth for the growing communications agency.
Most recently the creative lead at health-tech platform Mable, Harris brings 25 years’ experience as a creative thinker and copywriter. He has held creative leadership positions at WiTH Collective, DDB and Clemenger BBDO, working with brands such as HP, Telstra, Foxtel, Vinnies and VW.
Harris will work with Mike Nikotin, associate creative director, and a studio team of animators, designers, video editors and producers, to create brand campaigns that combine data, content and digital.
Nichole Provatas, EVP APAC Integrated Marketing said: “We were impressed by the calibre of creative talent interested in joining us – Neil stood out with his clear passion for innovation, purpose and fostering a creative culture. He sees things uniquely and creates work that moves people to action – it’s a perfect fit.”
Harris joins a creative, digital, strategy and production team which grew revenue by 30 per cent in FY22 as a result of increasing demand for integrated marketing services via WE’s core health, technology, corporate and investor offerings.
On his new position, Harris said: “The world has irrevocably changed over the last few years. Now more than ever, people are looking to brands to inspire confidence in the new norm. And brands are looking to a new style of agency to deliver relevant and impactful communications.
“With their strategic approach, incredibly talented team and their strong regional and network focus, WE Communications feels uniquely positioned in this climate. It’s a hugely exciting time to join and they’ve made me feel absolutely at home from the moment I walked through the door.”
WE Communications Australia’s managing director, Dan Woods added: “Neil joins us at a really important time in our journey. We have grown our overall service offering, capabilities and teams over the last two years, we worked our way through Covid, and now is the right time for us to take this further critical step of appointing a senior creative leader to bring more value to our clients and work.”
