SCA’s Richard Smith Joins The Brand Pool As Creative Director

Newcastle-based independent creative agency The Brand Pool has announced the appointment of Richard Smith as its new creative director.

Smith arrives with over 16 years’ industry experience, having worked at M&C Saatchi, VML, WiTH Collective, and most recently, at Southern Cross Austereo heading up its digital design and user experience department.

Lynn Poole, managing director of The Brand Pool, said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Richard to our team. Richard has reached the top of his field working on some of the world’s biggest brands, and I’m very happy that he has decided to call Newcastle and The Brand Pool home.

“We’re seeing more and more people coming from the metro cities to our awesome Newcastle, as it offers so much in terms of lifestyle and excellent business opportunities.”

Commenting on his new role, Smith said what attracted him to The Brand Pool was its ability to unravel complex brand problems by distilling them into simple truths.

“Having worked in London and Sydney, I’m thrilled to be in the thriving, creative city of Newcastle to help the Brand Pool and their clients deliver world-class solutions,” he said.

“Interacting with brands is something we all do every day, but how brands actually construct those narratives, stories, relationships and experiences is where the opportunity lies, and this is why I am excited to work with Lynn and the team at The Brand Pool.”
