The ABC has bumped up its security at all its major offices after threatening phone calls were made following the recent brouhaha over its Q&A segment.
“There have been a number of threatening phone calls,” a spokesman for the ABC told Sydney Morning Herald. “Security has been stepped up at major ABC offices across Australia”.
The spokesman said more than 1000 complaints had been received.
Sydney’s ABC Centre in Ultimo has reverted to ‘after-hours’ security arrangements, meaning only staff are allowed entry to the building.
A leaked email to ABC staff said:“While on ABC property, ABC staff should wear their security passes at all times and ensure passes are visible at all times.”
