The Nova Network will continue to sizzle over summer with James Mathison, Sam Mac and Kate Mac filling in for Nova’s breakfast teams in Sydney and Melbourne from Monday 7 December at 6am.

James, Sam and Kate will entertain Nova listeners in the lead up to Christmas with topical content and lots of laughs. The team will also be joined by Confidential on Nova and Daily Telegraph’s Jonathon Moran (JMo) to provide the latest entertainment coverage.

Versatile media personality James Mathison is well-known to Australian TV audiences as co-host of six series of Australian Idol. Having recently competed in Celebrity Apprentice, Mathison has hosted two ARIA Award ceremonies, co-hosted TEN’s Wake Up and regularly appears on TEN’s The Project. Mathison also hosted Launch Pad on the Nova Network.

James Mathison said, “Can’t wait to be joining the Nova team again for Summer. Really excited to be on waking up with a few laughs with the amazing Kate Mac and the other guy.”

An experienced broadcaster and TV personality, Sam Mac is no stranger to Nova, having co-hosted summer breakfast with Kate Ritchie in 2013 and Rachael Finch in 2014. Most recently filling in for Edwina Bartholomew as weather presenter on Seven’s Sunrise, Sam is regular on Weekend Sunrise, TEN’s The Project and worked with Mathison on TEN’s Wake Up.

Sam Mac said, “I remember back in the day thinking James was brilliant on Idol and now I’ve got a chance to work with him. Obviously this is my opportunity to be his new Andrew G, with our mate Kate playing the role of Andrew’s delightful hair (both pre and post Osher).”

Radio and TV personality Kate Mac has been part of the Nova family since 2007, having joined as a Casanova, she was promoted to an on-air role before moving to the Cayman Islands for a three year stint on radio.

Kate Mac said, “James’ big eyes used to scare me on Idol now I have to look at them for two weeks. I can’t wait to work with such seasoned pros like James, and a guy who can only be assumed as my brother or husband – Sam Mac. Let the bickering begin.”

Summer breakfast with James Mathison, Sam Mac and Kate Mac will be heard in Sydney and Melbourne from 6am from Monday 7 December to Friday 18 December. Perth breakfast will be Nathan, Nat & Shaun Reheated with Dave McClung, Brisbane will be hosted by Gawndy and Ange Anderson and Adelaide listeners will wake up to Andrew Costello (Cosi) and Amelia Mulcahy for week one and Cosi will be joined by Andrew Hayes from 14 December.

Nova’s breakfast teams – Sydney’s Fitzy & Wippa, Brisbane’s Ash, Kip & Luttsy, Adelaide’s Lewis & Lowe and Perth’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun will return in mid-January with Nova 100’s new breakfast team Chrissie Swan, Sam Pang and Jonathan Brown launching in Melbourne in 2016.
