NewsLifeMedia Celebrates 50 Years of Vogue Living

Vogue Living officially marks a half century of style with the launch of its collector’s issue celebrating 50 fabulous years it was announced today by NewsLifeMedia’s prestige and lifestyle director Nick Smith.

To commemorate the milestone, Vogue Living commissioned Dinosaur Designs to create an exclusive artwork for the 50th anniversary collector’s edition cover.

Nick Smith said: “Since 1967 Vogue Living has had a dedicated and engaged audience and that is something to be very proud of. Vogue Living is thriving across print, digital, social and events. Readership* of the magazine is up, vogueliving.com.au continues to grow and the brand now has a social footprint of over 2.5 million.”

Vogue Living editor-in-chief Neale Whitaker said: “This is a milestone to be applauded and celebrated. For five decades, Vogue Living has showcased exceptional people and extraordinary homes, anticipating design trends that have shaped our lives. Setting modesty aside, and a 50th birthday is no time to be shy, it’s fair to say Vogue Living has been one of Australia’s most significant cultural barometers.

“It’s a great privilege to be the custodian of Vogue Living on such an important anniversary, but I’d like to acknowledge my predecessors who have steered the brand brilliantly throughout the decades. Without their vision the magazine wouldn’t have the global respect it enjoys today. The biggest thanks of all must go to the amazingly creative and passionate team of people who are the current Vogue Living generation, and the clients who support us, issue after issue.

“It was a unanimous decision to invite Dinosaur Designs to create an exclusive artwork for our special cover, and they’ve done us proud. What a beautiful birthday gift.”

The issue features extraordinary support from key advertisers including Brickworks Building Products, Caesarstone, Coco Republic, Cromwell, Cult, David Jones, Fanuli, Harvey Norman, King Living, Lexus, Living Edge, Miele, Minotti, Nespresso, Poliform, Radford, Robyn Cosgrove, Signorino, Smeg, Space, Sunbrella and Weytlands.

To kick off a week of celebrations, Vogue Living hosted an intimate breakfast on 21 April at Melbourne’s Vue de Monde, in partnership with King Living, attended by 50 guests from the art and design world.

To celebrate 50 fabulous years and launch the special issue, a 50th birthday party was held last night at Bar Machiavelli, in partnership with Brickworks Building Products. The evening included a performance by special guest Tina Arena.

Vogue Living’s 50th anniversary issue, on sale today, features 50 people who Vogue Living believe represent the breadth and diversity of Australian design today; 50 designs, people and places that have influenced Vogue Living’s world; and 50 favourite rooms chosen by the Vogue Living team from the Vogue Living archive.

Vogue Living is also marking the occasion with a limited-edition collector’s boxed issue through Newsagents. A print of the Dinosaur Designs artwork featured on the cover is included with the boxed issue.
