Neil Patrick Harris Stars In Apple’s Latest iPhone Ad

Actor Neil Patrick Harris stars in Apple’s latest advert “Thank You Speech” showing off the hands-free capabilities of the iPhone 6s and voice recognition software Siri.

The ad showcase two updates to the Siri feature in the latest iPhone, Siri now has the ability to read entries in Notes as well as a adjusting her voice to sound more ‘natural’.

The new Siri is also hands-free activation that’s available on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6. On the iPhone 6s, users can activate Siri using the voice command “Hey Siri”. On the iPhone 6, “Hey Siri” only works if the iPhone is plugged in and charging. This hands-free activation is not activated in other iPhones because it drains the battery.

This isn’t the first time Apple has used celebrity endorsement of its products to spruik Siri. The tech company previously used Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster to show its hands-free option while Cookie Monster bakes cookies. Apple also released a blooper reel of the fuzzy blue monster pestering Siri until his cookies are finally finished baking.

Previously Harris made an appearance in Apple’s advert about its 4K-resolution video camera and touch ID. The ad “Onions” is a quirky story about a girl who records footage with her iPhone 6s of onions being sliced. The artistic world swiftly loses it:

Harris joins a long list of celebrity talent which Apple has used in its recent advertising campaigns, including Stevie Wonder and Andra Day starring in Apple’s Christmas campaign, Jamie Foxx, Zooey Deschanel, U2 and its cute babies in its latest outdoor advertising of photos shot only on Apple products.
