After a competitive pitch process with a number of agencies, the Movember Foundation has appointed Magnum PR.
The appointment is to develop and deliver elements of the creative comms, content strategy, launch plans and ambassador activity around the annual Movember moustache-growing campaign in Australia.
Matt Holmes, Creative Director, Magnum PR says, “We’re incredibly proud to have been chosen as the first PR agency in a number of years to help support the Movember Foundation build on its innovative and memorable campaigns from over the years. Their brand values of being innovative, fun and change agents are also at the heart of our agency. Acting as an extension to the existing team, we’re passionate about delivering a world-class engaging campaign that makes a real difference, while having a lot of fun in the process.”
Jeremy Macvean, Asia Pacific Director, the Movember Foundation says,”This is a great opportunity for us to work with a PR agency partner and we’re excited about the potential this relationship will bring to our vision to change the face of men’s health. There’s a lot to be excited about and we’re looking forward to another great year as moustaches sprout across the nation. With one in two Australian men developing cancer by the age of 85, and one in eight men experiencing depression at any given time, every Mo generates important awareness and support.”
Each year a fresh Movember campaign creative is introduced and this is set to be announced next month to roll-out across movember.com, social, digital and traditional media platforms.
The idea for Movember was conceived in Melbourne back in 2003, when 30 moustaches were grown. Last year, almost a million moustaches were grown across the world. Movember now runs official campaigns in 21 countries with over 4 million Mo Bros and Mo Sisters raising over $576 million for men’s health to date.
