Seven To Launch A New Channel 7Flix

The Seven Network has announced its intentions to release a new channel called 7Flix, which The Australian claims is a bid to put some extra competition on streaming giant Netflix.

7Flix on channel 76 is due to start airing on February 28, and will air TV series perfect for binge-watching as well as a number of movies.

Seven has said more will be revealed closer to the launch date.

The News Corp publication reports the network won’t incur extra costs as the content being streamed will come from the network’s available library content which includes content from US studio Warner Bros.

Seven last year secured the rights to the first seven seasons of The Big Bang Theory after Nine dissolved ties with Warner Bros.

At the time, The Sydney Morning Herald reported Seven and Warner Bros had contracted a number of titles the network was able to broadcast.

From the promo (below) some of the offerings include movies Charlie’s Angels, Pitch Perfect, Love Actually and Seinfeld, as well as some kids shows and movies like Frozen, The Muppets and Monsters Inc.

A previous version of this article incorrectly stated the channel was a streaming service.
