PRIA Announces 2015 Golden Target Awards Shortlisted Finalists
This year’s Golden Target Awards (GTA) received a huge volume of entries with co-chairs, Angela Coombes and Grant Smith, backed by the expertise of the 2014 GTA Chair, Allison Lee FPRIA, and a team of 70+ Judges and Coordinators.
The team have spent a great deal of time diligently reading, scoring, re-scoring, debating and comparing results for each individual entry, in what has been a very robust and thoughtful process.
“Today’s process of announcing the shortlist of finalists is a new initiative for 2015 and a positive step forward for the GTAs. It will of course help build excitement in offices across the country as it outlines to entrants if they are in the running for a prestigious gong,” said fellow co-chair, Angela Coombes, NEC.
PRIA thanks all 170 entrants for their participation in this year’s GTAs and wish all shortlisted entries the best of luck at state and national finals. Successful awardees at state level go into the running for the national finals on Monday, 26 October 2015 at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart, Tasmania – as part of PRIA’s 2015 National Conference proceedings.
What does being shortlisted mean?
It means those listed are still in the running to be awarded as a winner, or receive a commendation at the state and/or national level. However, being shortlisted does not guarantee entrants a win or commendation at state and/or national level.
Given the high quality of entries this year, the Judges had a difficult task. Like all awards, many factors contribute to overall outcomes for entries. Unfortunately not all entries have been shortlisted but the GTA Executive Committee thank all entrants for the time, effort, and energy that goes into an award entry and acknowledge the hard work needed to get applications ready.
PRIA GTA co-chair, Grant Smith, Smith Communications, stated: “What a busy few weeks of judging it has been. After lengthy phone calls, meetings, teleconferences, to-ing and fro-ing, plus everything in between, we are delighted to be delivering today’s news. I am sure there are a number of very excited and disappointed teams getting the news as we head into the weekend.
“Judging a long-standing awards system such as the GTAs is not easy, but I am glad it is a detailed process as we – the judges – can all be very proud recognising the great work from our industry.”
