Moth Projects Launches

Jonathan Samway, Jeffrey Darling & Sarah Blair have joined forces under the name Moth Projects.

Building on the already established brands of both Prodigyand Jeffrey Darling, this new partnership brings together years of combined industry experience between Samway and Darling.

“I am excited to be working with Jeff on a director/producer level and to also have a true creative partner in the business,” says Samway “We will continue to manage a brilliant roster of experienced and proven directing talent for commercial and content projects as well as looking to identify and secure opportunities that shift the business from a fee-for-service model toward being an originator and provider of content.”

One of the first initiatives from Moth Projects is Cocoon. Cocoon will seek to develop raw and ambitious new talent through a variety of media, mentored by Jeffrey Darling and Jonathan Samway.

“In my discussions with Jonathan, one of the things that made this such an attractive partnership is our shared passion for discovering and nurturing young talent. Australia is alive with emerging talent and I see Moth Projects as being a place to grow such talent under the banner of Cocoon. There are so many opportunities that present themselves within different forms that the traditional production company model needs to shift in my eyes to something more responsive to those creative possibilities. This has made me look at Moth Projects as a very flexible entity, looking at collaborations both inside and outside the company to develop and help manage the creative possibilities at hand,” says Darling.

Moth Projects is also expanding its vocabulary with the development of other projects, The first, a luxury brand: Map of the Heart, will be launched later this year internationally. Its first product offering will be three fragrances, developed by Blair in partnership with Givaudan, Paris.

“By producing our own product not only does it give us a greater depth of understanding of our client’s needs but also affords us a platform to showcase our creative breadth,” says Blair.

The team have hit the ground running so this announcement will be one of many over the following months that will continue to introduce the new shape of Moth.
