Houston Group Bolsters Strategy Department

Houston Group has announced the appointment of two key senior strategic hires, bolstering the agency’s planning prowess. Sarah McDonald (right) joins as strategy director and Anna Jackson (Left) takes up the role of senior strategist.

CEO, Stu O’Brien of the hires said: “No two jobs are the same, and Houston demands agile thinking and deep expertise. Our strategists in particular need a strong awareness of business strategy that stretches all the way to world-class creative execution. Combined with our existing strategy department, what we have now is a really well-rounded scope of unique thinking and experience to deliver on our clients’ challenges. It’s great to have these guys on board!”

The appointments follow successful, on-going partnerships with iconic brands such as Lendlease, Qantas and UTS. McDonald brings broad experiences from creative to connections strategy, including her most recent work at UM which encompassed projects across Johnson and Johnson, Coca Cola Amatil and the NSW Government.

“Sarah’s mix of communication thinking will bring a fresh perspective to the strategy department at Houston – she sees it as a great opportunity to round out her strategic skill set by focusing on brand,” continued O’Brien.

Jackson is an awarded creative and strategic thinker, who’s worked at agencies including Naked, DDB and Landor. She’s recently returned to agency land after a year of maternity leave and the launch of her business venture, Brewquets.

“Having worked at Houston before, Anna is excited to be back, applying her problem solving skills on what she reckons are some of the best briefs in town,” O’Brien concluded.

Houston Group is part of WPP AUNZ, Australasia’s leading marketing content and communications group.
