Former Olympic Swimming Champion Elka Whalan joins ARN newsroom as Games commentator

Australian Radio Network is pleased to announce Australian swimming champion, multiple medalist and dual Olympian Elka Whalan will join the ARN news team as a commentator during the Games in August.

Elka’s outstanding swimming career saw her reach world #1 in her freestyle events, bringing home medals from the Olympics, World Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Sydney and Brisbane News Director for the KIIS and Pure Gold networks Deborah Clay believes Elka’s inspiring personality and significant sporting experience will resonate with listeners across the ARN news brands.

Every time I see Elka, I walk away feeling as though I’ve been in the presence of somebody special. Elka’s own Olympic achievements, experience as a media personality and her uniquely positive outlook make her a perfect, engaging and fun addition to the ARN news offering during the Games. Elka will be heard nationally across the ARN Pure Gold and KIIS networks from August 5 to 21.
